Welcome Back to School
Hello and welcome back to a new school year.
It was so lovely to see all the children return to school this week, walking in so smartly dressed in their school uniform. I felt very proud to be their Head Teacher.
As a staff team we work hard to ensure that the children receive the very best education and that they thrive in an environment that recognises each of them as individuals. We want all of our pupils to develop a love of learning and a sense of self-belief and to be responsible citizens with a sense of pride for themselves and their community.
It goes without saying that we want to provide the very best academic education for your child. We know we have succeeded when we see past pupils thriving at secondary school and beyond. Our focus is to develop the learning skills and firm foundations to enable this to happen for all our pupils. We have updated our website with our latest data and we are very proud of all the children achieved last year.
This is only part though of what we do however. We are building on our already successful calendar of extracurricular activities. Last year we were able to offer 2000 free after-school places in a range of sporting, arts, science and cooking clubs. We see our responsibilities to our children extending beyond the school day and we continue to seek opportunities to develop our offer and work with organisations that use our facilities to benefit the community.
Finally we look for our children to become responsible citizens, developing in them a strong sense of what is right and wrong and knowledge that everyone, no matter how small can make a difference. We have in place a system of pupil leadership, where children take responsibility for different aspects of school life as well as for their community. We look to develop this further over the year with children take part in a variety of events, competitions and volunteering that enhances their lives and the lives of others within our community.
Without the support of yourselves we could not achieve what we do. We will continue to keep you updated, host information sessions and senior leadership staff will also be available at pick up and drop off on the gate and yard at the start of the school day if you want to ask any questions.
I would like to thank you personally for your continued commitment and support towards the staff and pupils of this school.
Kind regards
Mrs Hirst
