Dear Parent/Guardian/Carer,

Year 6 Transition Days and Parents’ Evening,

We are delighted that you have chosen Hummersknott Academy for your child.  We look forward to working with you and your child to ensure that the next five years are successful and rewarding. The process of transition has already begun and Mrs Rayner will visit your child’s primary school to speak with both the children and their teachers about the transition and how we can make this process as smooth as possible.

Transition Days are planned for Wednesday 28^th, Thursday 29^th and Friday 30^th June 2023.

Parents’ Evening – once we have allocated your child into a College, you will be invited to a parents’ evening to meet your child’s Form Mentor and College Manager. 

Dates for Parents’ Evenings:

Tuesday 4^th July - 6.00pm - Cuthbert and Ketton Colleges

Wednesday 5^th July - 6.00pm - Quaker, Stephenson and Wyvern Colleges

We will contact you nearer the time to provide more details about the transition days and parents’ evening.

We have enclosed information for you to help get your child ready for secondary school. There is also a handy checklist so you can manage the documents that need to be completed and returned.

I should be grateful if you would complete the enclosed Admission Form and return it to Hummersknott Academy as soon as possible, but no later than Friday 16^th June 2023.

If for any reason your child does not wish to accept their place at Hummersknott Academy, please inform us as soon as possible, so that their place can be allocated to another student.
