Summer 2 Parent's letter
Dear Parents and Carers,
Welcome back to the final half of the summer term.
This is always a really busy time in school with lots of events, trips and activities. These activities have been much missed over the last few years and to have the chance to have a proper end to the year is fabulous.
Next week is STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths) week in school. This is a full week devoted to STEM activities and learning. Children will be finding out about the world and beyond and how it works. We will also be meeting inspirational scientists who are currently working in different fields of science and have a range of visitors in school who will help us understand how careers in STEM make a positive difference to the lives of everybody.
We also have a planetarium set up in the hall and an actual piece of the Moon and some asteroids on loan from NASA!
Each year group will be completing a blog to keep you updated with what they have learnt and done that day. Keep an eye out for these on our website and Facebook page.
On our website will also be the curriculum overviews and knowledge organisers for each year group for the half term. This will detail what your child will be covering in each subject and the key knowledge and vocabulary that they will be learning. Please take time to have a look as they contain suggestions for activities that could be completed at home to enhance the learning in this area.
Finally, we have many sporting events to look forward to. This year sees the full return of sports days, interschool competitions and our colour run. Dates for all of these events are on our latest newsletter.
Many thanks for all your support,
Mrs Hirst and the West Park Team
