Letter To Parents
30th November 2021
Dear Parent/Carer
Following the government's weekend announcement on new measures in response to the identification of the Omicron variant of COVID-19, the following changes to our current risk assessment will come into effect from Tuesday 30th November 2021.
Face Coverings
All staff and visitors to wear face coverings in internal communal areas of the school, unless they are exempt.
Christmas Concerts EYFS
To support us in minimising the risk of the spread of Covid-19 before the Christmas period we are asking all parent/carers to take the following actions before attending our Nursery and Reception Christmas concerts:
- Please wear a face mask, unless exempt.
- Please restrict attendance to no more than two people per child
- Please lateral flow before attendance
Contact tracing and isolation
The current guidance on contact tracing and isolation remains in place. In addition to these, any suspected or confirmed close contacts of the Omicron variant will be asked to isolate for 10 days regardless of vaccination status or age. You will be contacted directly by Track and Trace and told to isolate.
If this is the case, please inform the school office immediately. Remote learning will be provided by the school for positive confirmed cases of Covid-19 in pupils or where the requirement to self-isolate has been put in place by Track and Trace but they are not unwell.
Existing measures in school
We will continue to encourage children and staff to regularly wash hands and use hand sanitiser. We will also continue to follow hands, face, space and fresh air guidance by making sure all areas of the school are well ventilated, tissues as in good supply and touch points are regularly cleaned.
Review
We will continue to follow advice from the Department of Education and to review the situation within the school. Should any further changes to our existing risk assessment be required I will inform you immediately.
Kind regards,
Mrs Hirst
